IDM Superbike at the Sachsenring

Under difficult conditions, Dario Giuseppetti won the double victory at the Sachsenring.

(Autosport.com) Dario Giuseppetti has his crash at the Nurburgring seemingly recovered, because the Berlin won both the IDM Superbike at the Sachsenring. Karl Muggeridge and Damian Cudlin were this weekend in the first run of Martin Bauer and Matej SMRZ, as well as in the second race on the podium.


In the first run, the sympathetic Berlin on the Ducati showed a strong performance. He won the first race before Martin Bauer on the KTM and Matej SMRZ, which could go not the pace of Giuseppetti. In the end, he prevailed with 7,143 seconds ahead of the Austrians. Karl Muggeridge, who approached the race from the second position, had a few problems and much even behind Damian Cudlin on the fifth position.


Jorg Teuchert Team Yamaha motor of Germany was sixth on the line and was Michael Ranseder and Ghisbert van Ginhoven. His team-mate Sascha Hommel bike his Yamaha in the 9th place. With Filip Altendorfer, a more BMW ended up in the top 10.


After four rounds, the second race of the IDM Superbike at the Sachsenring was an early end, because it began to rain. The race Director responded and dropped out of the race. Meanwhile Muggeridge and Giuseppetti fought a hard but fair fight on the track. Because the distances from the first part of race in the second were taken over, the Berlin had a comfortable lead of 2.6 seconds on the Australians. Giuseppetti crossed the finish line with his Ducati but was the first and gathered this weekend to 50 points. Muggeridge was second ahead of compatriot Damian Cudlin.


Jorg Teuchert again only just missed the jump on the podium in the circumstances, and finished fourth. For a long time his team-mate Hommel and Gareth Jones dueled in a long-distance duel, but had to Hommel to the ground in the last corner of the last lap and so was Jones' fifth place safely. Barry Veneman was sixth ahead of his team-mate van Ginhoven. Filip Backlund came with his Suzuki to the eighth rank before Filip Altendorfer. The team-mate of Cudlin, Marc Wildisen, rounded off the top ten.
